God Keeps His Promises

My fiance and I had been attending CVC for about 2 months (when you started the Whose Dime Is It Anyway series). Your sermons on money, time and relationships have been so helpful to us, as young adults and as a couple. We are trying to implement the 10-10-80 plan in our budget and our lives. Every week when the tithe plates are passed around Greg and I try to give some money, most times it is nothing significant ($5-10), but we know it is "the thought that counts." During the third week of that series, as the plates were being passed around Greg and I were debating whether or not we could afford to put in the only cash he had in his wallet, which was a $20 bill. Yeah it's not much, but being young and having expenses and bills it seemed like a lot. We felt lead to give so we threw caution to the wind and put it in.

We left church feeling blessed once again and the money was the farthest thing from our mind. Well, at the end of the message the next weekend I turned to Greg and asked him if he remembered that our checking account actually had $250 extra in it (that week), and all the bills had been successfully paid.

It was so awesome because we never have money left over and are always waiting for the next paycheck to come in so we can pay the next week's bills. But the most awesome thing was that we thought we really didn't have the money to "spare" that week before, but God helped us take a leap of faith and give it to Him, and through that leap of faith He really proved His Word to us and the blessings He bestows to those who have faith and trust Him! And that is only one of the ways we have seen Him work in us and through us since we have started going back to church!

Thank you for the blessing that CVC is to us. May He always receive the glory.

In Him,

Gabrielle
