Objectives

  • Responsibility: STEP is a place where we discover a new purity and a new passion to love God, others and even ourselves. Forgiveness is central to this process and we believe that the passion to live as God designed is greater and stronger than the lesser passions to live a selfish life.

  • Empathy: STEP is a place where people experience true compassion and comfort as God designed for us to give and receive from one another. We believe God equips hurting people to provide care and concern to other hurting people.

  • Accountability: STEP is a place where people invest in each other's lives, praying for each other while encouraging each other to keep moving in the right direction, helping to identify what needs to be changed, and committed to a vision of what God desires to make of our lives.

  • Christ-Centered:
  • STEP is a place where the spiritual aspects of recovery are honored. We define our "higher power" as Jesus Christ, and define ourselves not so much by our struggle but by the new identity that is being formed in us.

  • Humility: STEP is a place where the walls of pretense are broken down and where there is a common desire for God to bring about a much needed change in our lives.
